[ARCHIVED] Arrest Made in Jackson Street Stabbing

LAWRENCE

Lawrence Police arrested Efrain Candelario, age 42, of Lawrence based on an incident that took place at 233 Jackson Street on August 20th, after an investigation conducted by Officer Lillian Santana of the Lawrence Police Patrol Division. Lawrence Police responded to the Jackson Street address for a report of an assault and battery. Upon arrival, Officers encountered a 44 year old Lawrence male being treated by EMT’s and Paramedics from Lawrence General Hospital. He was subsequently transported to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Officer Santana was able to obtain the identity of the suspect through interviewing witnesses. The suspect fled the scene following a search of the area for the suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Candelario was later arrested by members of the Lawrence Police Gang Unit. He was arraigned in Lawrence District Court and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault with intent to murder.
