[ARCHIVED] Lawrence Man Arraigned on Firearms Charges

LAWRENCE

Following an investigation led by Detective Sean O’Keefe of the Lawrence Police Gang Unit, Michael Taveras, age 30 of Lawrence has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon to wit a Firearm and Threats to Commit a Crime to wit a Firearm. The charges were issued as a result of an identification of the suspect by Detective Scott McCabe. This identification was confirmed through a photo array conducted by Sergeant Michael Colantuoni. Following the identification, an arrest warrant was issued for Taveras’ arrest.

The investigation stemmed from an incident at a West Street business where Taveras threatened a business owner who would not let Taveras into the business after hours as the store was closed for the day. Taveras allegedly returned to the business and brandished a firearm.

Traveras turned himself in to the Lawrence District Court and was arraigned on the above charges.
